Sandtoft gave its full support at the South Yorkshire & Humber Building Excellence Awards last Thursday as one of the main supporters of the annual event. The leading tile manufacturer sponsored four housing awards including Best Housing Development 1 10 Units, Best Housing Development 11+ Units, Best Community Project and Best Social or Affordable Housing Development.
The awards are designed to recognise building excellence across the region, including Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster, North Lincolnshire, Hull and Barnsley, and relate to projects completed in 2009. Regional Sales Director for Sandtoft, John Harris, presented awards to the following category winners, Keystone Build Ltd for Croft Lane, Yaddlethorpe, Iliad Group for Keppel Wharf, Rotherham, Bond Bryan Architects for The Core, Barnsley, and Bramall Construction for Newhill Road, Barnsley.
John comments: Sandtoft is a fervent supporter of the Building Excellence awards. We are fully aware of the hard work and professionalism of the regions construction companies and it is a pleasure for us to be part of The Building Control Awards Scheme which seeks to recognise and reward their drive and enthusiasm. The bar was set high this year as the standard of entries was excellent and so the winners did especially well in the face of fierce competition.
Guests at the ceremony enjoyed a champagne reception followed by a three course meal and entertainment from local comedian, Gary Marshall and Andy the Magician. Other sponsors included Yorkshire Water, the Association of Building Engineers, JS Supplies, Kingspan Insulation and LABC New Homes Warranty. The winning projects are now eligible for entry to the national LABC finals to be held in London later this year.
