Finsbury Park Place is a high quality, sustainable mixed tenure development, on the Seven Sisters Road in North London. It comprises four penthouses and a selection of one, two and three bedroom apartments. There are 109 units in total, of which 67 are designated for social rent. In terms of sustainability, among its many features, the scheme includes photovoltaic panels located on the roof to provide power for the communal lighting; the use of triple glazing for thermal enhancement and improved acoustic values. There is also a high level of thermal insulation to the buildings and CO2 emissions are anticipated to be 44% better than current building regulations requirements.

It is one of Londons great Victorian parks, and the exterior design of the scheme is undoubtedly influenced by its location. All apartments have either walk-out balconies or terraces, and the parkland aspect is reflected in the high quality tonal contrast face brickwork, which is complemented by glazed, inset green-tinted balconies.
These large cantilever balconies are supported on one side only using the type K Isokorb from Schöck, which provides a thermal break between external reinforced concrete components and the building. The Isokorb also transfers bending moment stress and shear forces, while the integrated hanging and perimeter tensile reinforcement, which is fitted as standard, also saves the unnecessary and costly use of extra stirrups or hooped mat.
The Isokorb range allows connections to be made between concrete-to-concrete, concrete-to-steel and steel-to-steel; with one of the modular connection types even allowing the retro-fitting of balconies in certain situations. It is a range that also comfortably exceeds the requirements of the UK regulation (BRE IP1/06) which stipulates that the temperature factor used to indicate condensation risk (fRSI), must be greater than, or equal to, 0.75 for residential buildings.
