This school’s Sports Hall area required high levels of daylighting and ventilation within the changing rooms, whilst minimising ‘Solar-Gain’.

Whitesales Em-Dome® Modular Rooflights were chosen and installed to existing raised timber upstands. The rooflight specification included triple skin HeatReflect glazing with an obscure finish for privacy. The units also incorporated composite aluminium and PVCu adaptors with controllable louvre ventilators. Em-Dome® rooflights incorporate high security screwbolts as standard.

HeatReflect glazing contains high light transmission with low solar gain, reducing the requirement for expensive cooling systems. Triple skin units comply with Approved Document L 2006 with a U-Value of 1.78W/m²k.
