Search Tips

Barbour Product Search gives you full flexibility in finding building products and manufacturers. You can browse by product categories or search using keywords, filtering your result to target companies and trade names, featured products, case studies, product images or product news.

Keyword searching can be done from anywhere on the website using the red search bar. Use the drop down box on the left to filter your search results.

Browse product categories from the home page to find companies and featured products.

Go to the tabs on the top navigation bar to browse or search for Images, Product News and Case Studies.

Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions. If you can’t find the answer to your question below please email us at editor@barbourproductsearch.info.

How many keywords can I use?
You can use up to three (3) keywords in a search. Generally common words such as "and", "the", "or" and one character words are excluded.

Why can’t I find what I am looking for?
Try different search words based on company, product or trade names, and limit the number of words you use to increase the level of results you get.

What influences the order of search results?
The search engine finds all relevant results and then orders them based on relevance to the keywords searched and on the depth of information held.

Can I do a search using Boolean operators (AND/OR etc.)?
No, the search engine does not support Boolean search operators.

Can I use part of a word to search, for example by ‘Floor’ to include ‘Flooring’?
Yes, but note that the search engine will only match the beginning of words. ‘Floor’ will match to ‘Flooring’ but ‘Houses’ will not match to ‘Greenhouses’.
