A national conservatory roof specialist which aims to replace around 1,500 roofs this year has switched to an innovative, lightweight, easy to install system to help customers enjoy their extra room all year round.
Somerset and Stockport-based Sentinel Solid Roof (part of Tradeframe Conservatories), which specialises in replacing glass or polycarbonate conservatory roofs with a tiled timber frame alternative will be using the CE marked dual purpose mix and match Actis Hybrid system for all its preassembled solid roof pods.
The switch from using rigid board to a combination of 90mm Hybris and H Control Hybrid in its prefabricated roof pods will offer a U-value of 0.18 higher than required by building control.
Sentinel Solid Roof MD Bob Lilley explained why the company made the switch to Hybrid: Actis have provided us with a cost effective, waste efficient product that is quick to cut and install, lighter than the previous insulation and which also means nothing goes to landfill.
Actis specification manager Matt Rhodes explained: Conservatories are a popular way to add extra space, but the downside is that often they are too hot in summer and too cold in winter. Not only does this make them unusable for a chunk of the year it also often doesnt add value when the owner comes to sell as it isnt classed as a proper room.
The Sentinel Solid Roof system replaces the traditional conservatory roof with a lightweight tiled version complete with very thermally efficient insulation to overcome these issues.
In addition to the fact that it offers an excellent thermal performance, what Sentinel loves about the Hybrid system is that its light, easy and quick to install and its easy to transport around the country as its in rolls rather than squares. They can also get a complete thermal solution from just one company.
Actis also offers support to the companies sales teams by providing informative literature to explain the benefits of the system to the end user.
The popularity of the range, both with installers and the customers wanting replacement roofs, suggests similar companies are likely to look into choosing the system.
