Setter delivers 9 bespoke canopies for primary school

Setter won a tender put out by Milton Keynes council, for 9 bespoke canopies to be built outside of Water Hall Primary School’s classrooms.

Water Hall Primary were looking for a custom design that was particularly special, to complement their school building, which won a RIBA award for its design in 2010.

Setter proposed an entirely bespoke solution that was mounted off of the large angled glulam beam that was integral to each of their classrooms, with a large swooping piece of glulam acting as the front place.

The canopy was designed to mirror the paving slab design underfoot, and also had to accommodate the tree that each classroom had planted outside of it.

Not only do the canopies look striking and complement their interesting school buildings, they also provide ample all-weather space for their pupils to get outdoors in any weathers.
