Setter play equipment at Westfield First School

Setter play equipment at Westfield First School

After the successful completion of an outdoor classroom earlier this year, Westfield First School in Hertfordshire approached Setter Play again to provide a solution for their playground areas and equipment.

The brief was to provide different areas of interest, with the space having been demarcated into zones by the use of coloured synthetic grass.

Setter Play used blue artificial grass surfacing in the ‘Story time’ area to promote 'quiet and reflective time' along with a Story Teller chair, logs and toadstool seats. An ‘imaginative’ area was created using wigwams and drape posts. This area is defined by the use of earth-coloured synthetic grass and corral-style palisade log clusters.

The main active area incorporated a Spiffy play unit as a focal point and features green synthetic grass throughout, to increase the area of the all-weather play space by 100m2. To fully utilise the whole space, custom-built seats with planters were incorporated around the boundary, together with sand and mud pits.
