Type of works: manufacture and supply of new internal roller shutters

Industrial Door Engineering has completed the upgrading of the roller shutters and fire roller shutters on Shrewsbury Market, Shropshire, UK. The project involved new internal roller shutters and fire roller shutters but also, the first Panorama Roller Shutter to be fitted in the UK.

The Panorama shutter curtain was manufactured and powder-coated by Dover Vanguard at their Oldham factory. The remainder of the shutter was manufactured at the I.D.E factory in Northwich. The shutter is almost 7 metres wide and 3.5 metres high and driven by a 500 Nm tube motor and also incorporates a tapered bottom rail to compensate for the sloping floor.

Ray Bassett, the I.D.E. surveyor who co-ordinated the project said ‘the client is delighted with the products that we have supplied, particularly the Panorama shutter that has replaced a twenty year old hand crank operated tube and link grille’.
