Sika 1 chosen as watertight solution for former M&S HQ

Sika 1 chosen as watertight solution for former M&S HQ

Sika has supplied a range of high performance structural waterproofing products as part of the refurbishment and conversion of a 9000m2 office building on London’s Baker Street.

82 Baker Street was built in 1904 and was once the London headquarters of Marks & Spencer. Central to the redesign and refurbishment of this prime five storey development, was the incorporation of a waterproofing system which was used to protect the building from the basement up and ensure the structure is watertight for years to come.

With long term performance and reliability in mind, Renderseal specified 1200m2 of the Sika 1 Pre - bagged Waterproofing System for the floors and walls. A further 200m2 of the Sika Cavity Drainage Membrane was also specified for additional protection and ensures any penetrating water is directed into a drainage system.

This landmark building is on track for a summer 2014 completion whilst at the same time offering long term performance for many more years to come.
