Sika Launches Registered Contractor Scheme For Secret Fix Rainscreen Cladding System

Global building product manufacturer, Sika, has launched its new SikaTack Panel Registered Contractor Scheme for rainscreen cladding installation specialists. The scheme will offer architects, clients and contractors complete quality control throughout the specification, supply and installation process of the SikaTack Panel Adhesive System – the most widely specified secret fix, structural adhesive system for rainscreen cladding applications.

The use of secret fix adhesive systems has grown rapidly over the last ten years, in line with the market trend for rainscreen cladding specifications. By maintaining the highest standards of aesthetics and long term performance, alongside a fast and efficient installation process, the SikaTack Panel Adhesive System provides a secret fix solution for even the most challenging cladding projects.

The new scheme offers minimisation of risk along with improved quality control. With the excellent standard of materials guaranteed by Sika and the installation guaranteed by the Registered Contractor, specifiers, engineers and main contractors will be able to benefit from a secret fix cladding system that will not let them down.

With an unrivalled commitment to quality and technical support, market leader Sika has achieved full British Board of Agrément accreditation for its SikaTack Panel Adhesive System – the only system of its kind to have achieved this standard. And now with the new Registered Contractor Scheme, Sika can ensure every application of SikaTack Panel Adhesive is completed to the highest standard.

As well as various accreditations, the SikaTack Panel Adhesive System is supported by impressive wind loading and dead weight statistics. It reduces cold bridging, and with its elastic bond also reduces the stress placed on the cladding panels by allowing them to move in line with normal building movements.

To ensure integrity, entry to the scheme is carefully considered and only the most skilled and reliable companies will achieve accreditation. Registered contractors must provide evidence of a stable trading history, good project references and a commitment to Health & Safety and the environment. In addition to this, companies must comply with all relevant British Standards, hold appropriate insurance cover and be VAT registered.

Once the company has satisfied Sika that it is an experienced cladding installer and has expertise in the application of the SikaTack Panel Adhesive System, it will be awarded Registered Contractor status. By collaborating with these companies, Sika can ensure the high benchmark that the company sets itself will be delivered across the whole industry.
