Client: St Augustine's Pre-School
Type of works: design and installation of a bright, modern and safe washroom solution, suitable for a busy and popular Hertfordshire pre-school.

The brief was to have the project managed by IGLOOS through the design, manufacturing, removal and installation stages for all areas, including the walls, tiling, ceiling, lighting, decorating, flooring and cubicle installation.

IGLOOS worked closely with the client at the design stage to achieve the client’s requests for a modern, fresh and colourful environment for the children and staff.

The client chose the Education range - Pre-school cubicle system which allows easy access and suitable supervision from the teaching staff. The cubicle system was designed and fabricated by IGLOOS using a high-pressure laminate material for durability and water resistance. The colours chosen were primary colours to give a warm and welcoming environment, the adult’s cubicle was colour matched sympathetically to the children’s whilst allowing maximum privacy for the user.

A matching vanity unit was chosen and manufactured from a post-formed high-pressure laminate with underneath lockable storage cupboards which were wall-mounted off the floor for easier cleaning. Semi-recessed hand basins with non-concussive taps were installed for easier access for the children and to save water and prevent flooding. A brightly coloured rainbow was painted above the vanity unit to promote a bright and friendly environment.

The client chose to have their existing hand dryer and soap dispensers reinstalled so that they could continue with their current supplier contracts. However, new mini jumbo toilet roll dispensers and a wall-mounted baby change facility were provided.

The existing tiled floor was replaced with a decorative heavy-duty safety flooring which is ideal for use in areas where enhanced slip-resistance is required. This flooring is Ideal for areas that may be subject to spillages and is hygiene critical. The edges of the vinyl were taken up the wall as a skirting and to provide an easy to maintain flooring.
