Client: St Johns Smith Square
Type of works: supply of Bronze Age and Glass Age handrails and balustrades from B A Systems.
Ability in creative use of materials was demonstrated in this project, in which B A Systems worked closely with the architect to fulfil his vision.
The rectangular profile of the Bronze Age handrail, combined with a Glass Age structural balustrade, provides a contemporary feel with a classical twist which harmonises perfectly with the surrounding 18th century architecture.
The Glass Age balustrade consisted of 19mm toughened glass whilst the Bronze Age handrail was custom-made in aged bronze to a bespoke rectangular profile; mounted to top of glass.
