Creating a more prestigious and welcoming main entrance, St Thomas Aquinas Catholic School in Birmingham now benefits from an internal lobby area created by two sets of bi-parting TORMAX automatic sliding doors. Quantum Construction Ltd contracted TORMAX to supply and install automatic doors as part of a larger refurbishment to the front entrance which included the removal of concrete steps to allow easy access for all users, as well as the installation of a contemporary glass canopy. “We have been impressed with the performance of a set of TORMAX automatic doors that were installed to the rear of the building some years ago, so it was logical to specify them again,” comments June Simms, Head of Finance and Premises for the School. “I always look for ‘Best Value’ from any project and the aesthetically impressive entrance at the front certainly fulfils this criteria successfully encouraging free-flowing foot traffic whilst cutting down heat lost from the building.”
