Stressline's new shear means more choice

Stressline's new shear means more choice

Lintel manufacturer, Stressline Limited took delivery of their new steel shear at their Leicestershire site on the 19th July.

The shear will double their steel lintel output as well as increase the range of products they manufacture.

The new shear is a 6m Safan Darley M shear that has been customised for Stressline to a bespoke specification.

It was put in place immediately and training for the staff began the next day.

Approximately 26% of Stressline’s lintels sales in 2016 have been steel (the rest being pre-stressed concrete).

The new shear, coupled with increased yard space means that Stressline will be building a larger steel lintel stock profile to better service their builder customer base.

Chris Fox, Managing Director at Stressline, explains why they sought out the new shear:

"With demand for our 4m and longer steel lintel products increasing, the sales and production teams determined the replacement of our 4m shear for a longer shear was viable.”

One of the main advantages of the new shear will be its capacity to cut longer lengths of steel, and thus allow Stressline to manufacture steel lintels to lengths of up to 5100mm.
