Brief
As part of the T5 development at Heathrow Airport in London, a prestigious new ground plaza walkway was required.

To provide a ground plaza walkway made from the very highest quality materials, as befitting this major prestige new build project. Sustainable sourcing of products was a key requirement and the project had to be completed to a tight programme within a stipulated budget. This was against a backdrop of busy and enclosed working areas, due to the other major development taking place.

Solution
Aggregate Industries went to great lengths to satisfy all the demanding criteria of this key public realm area for Heathrow Airport. Working in conjunction with the BAA design team, new products were developed to provide bespoke solutions. These included products manufactured to 1 mm tolerance and the supply of specialist Granite paving with specially cut materials. In addition, 7 bespoke benches were produced to the same exacting standards, using the same granite as the paving, and which demonstrated Aggregate Industries’s ability to be adaptable to meet this demanding brief.
