Terminal 5, Heathrow Airport

Client: Heathrow Airport
Type of works: design and manufacture of smoking shelters.

In March 2008, Queensbury Shelters was approached by a contractor working on behalf of Heathrow Airport looking for a long-term solution for the provision of unobtrusive smoking shelters for passengers and staff at their brand new Terminal 5 development.

The solution would have had to be durable and low maintenance, as the customer did not want to have to replace the shelters or components within them anytime soon, whilst maintaining the modern aesthetic appeal of the terminal building as a whole. The solution they opted for was four 5m enclosed smoking shelters with additional entrance panels and solid aluminium side-glazing for added user discretion.

On this occasion the customer was so happy with the product, professional installation service and price that Queensbury went on to complete further works on their behalf at the prestigious T5 development.
