The Anvil development at Basingstoke is a combined concert hall, entertainment and conference centre.

The building is a striking blend of flat planes and sweeping curves, executed in strong primary colours. With their combination of optical flatness and excellent bending properties, ALUCOBOND® panels were selected by the architect as being able to provide exactly the required effect.

ALUCOBOND® is available in a range of thicknesses and in a wide choice of colours. The company worked closely with the architects to develop the optimum solution, and the panels selected for the project were 4mm thick, installed by secret fixing on the main elevations, canopies and box office rotunda.

Alcan also carefully monitored the installation process to ensure that the design concept was realised in practice.

The panels were fabricated by Booth-Muirie based in Glasgow.
