The Exchange Building
Client: The Exchange Building located in London's Spitalfields
Type of works: supply and installation of door-entry equipment
The Exchange Building has been refurbished by Hampstead Homes to provide 100 luxury apartments, whilst retaining its external art-deco style.
Security is a main consideration, and the Exchange Building had been provided with automatic gates to the underground car park, video surveillance and a BPT door-entry system.
The door-entry system consists of a BPT VPDM/100 digital switchboard, located within the reception desk. The two entrance doors are fitted with BPT VTD/100P vandal-resistant video-entry phone panels with proximity access control readers.
This set-up allows visitors to call each flat directly, or when in intercept mode, all calls made from an entry panel to a flat are diverted to the porter who can then transfer the call to the flat if the tenant wishes to speak to the visitor directly.
VTD/100P video-entry panels allow the porter to view any visitor by the use of solid-state cameras with electronic automation shutter incorporated within the panel, which generates a high-resolution picture on the monitor screen.
The entry panel is stylish and modern in appearance with flush buttons and illuminated translucent figures.
