The Gallery, Cambridge

21 May 2009

Client: Taylor Wimpey
Type of works: supply of Potissimum grating for a balcony balustrade.

The Gallery is a stylish collection of apartments and penthouses close to Cambridge city centre.

The Taylor Wimpey development was designed with a mixture of retro and contemporary chic to appeal to younger buyers.

Orsogril UK was asked to supply 148 framed panels for fixing into the balcony balustrade. The Potissimum grating with a 34 x 100mm aperture was specified to comply with the National House Building Council’s guidelines for anti-climb balustrades of <35mm width mesh.

The contract also included security grilles for the ground level parking area and wall-fixed panels to act as plant trellising throughout the surrounding landscaped gardens.

These were made from Sterope with a larger 62 x 132mm aperture. The panels were supplied in a hotdip galvanised finish, preserving an aesthetic integrity with the other natural materials used on the exterior.
