The Pines Calyx is a two domed building which provides a healthy, sustainable venue 90 minutes away from London. With natural energy supplies rapidly depleting, the clients brief was for a 21st century building using medieval techniques without replying on modern methods to minimise the building’s carbon footprint.

For the external appearance of the building to remain in keeping with the surrounding conservation area, extensive substrate was topped with soil scrap and left to self colonise, creating a self sufficient green roof that contains local flora. The roof was delivered on time and within budget.
