Marwan had been living in his semi-detached home in North London for 2 years before making a start on renovating. During that time, he had thought about the project and visualised how it would eventually look. The idea was to create an open plan kitchen/diner that could flow into both the lounge and garden. Marwan placed high importance on letting natural light into the home to create a spacious feel within room.
Out with the Old
The first task was to get rid of the existing kitchen, which meant tearing out all the current appliances, fixtures and fittings. Marwan also completely knocked down the back of the house so he could extend outwards and upwards, which would give him a larger kitchen as well as an extra bedroom.
It was important that the products used in the home were of a high quality to make sure they were not only aesthetically pleasing, but would continue to work faultlessly, year after year. This is why Marwan took a very hands-on approach when deciding what products would be used in the build. The more planning you do, the better the end result will be and the more time you will save.”
