Detailed planning permission has been granted for the conversion of an unused car park into 21 new homes and commercial space in Croydon.

The designs, by Fraser Brown MacKenna Architects include a double skin facade with perforated metal screen and provides deep private balconies overlooking the roundabout.

The scheme, estimated at £2m, for Workspace overlooks a busy roundabout off Purley Way, and comprises one to three-bedroom homes.

The scheme intends to achieve a Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4. It is due to start work in the summer
