Client: Transport for London (TfL) Type of works: supply of cycle parking facilities and associated groundworks. External Solutions Ltd (ESL) was commissioned by TfL to supply cycle parking facilities and associated groundworks to a large number of overground stations until 2011.

Typical project detail:

Extensive site survey to determine best location and surface (numerous station visits in one day)

Extensive Health and Safety package, including super-imposed images in allocated time frame

Extensive liaising and record keeping between numerous associations

Removal of existing old cycle stands

Excavation of existing surfaces to install new

Laying new tarmaccadam/concrete

Installing new sub-surface mounted cycle stands

Installing new fencing if required

Relocation of signage

All stations remain safe and operational whilst work is undertaken. Weekend work is often undertaken for busier commuter stations.
