TracPipe stainless steel semi-rigid gas pipe is an alternative to traditional rigid copper or steel, installed between meter and appliance. (For installations before the meter it is possible to use TracPipe and reference should be made to BS EN 12007-1).
New to Europe, but with a 30 year proven history of installation initially in Japan, and then in North America, TracPipe has now captured more than 35% of the US gas pipe market. TracPipe is available from nationwide distributors and by mail order.
Tracpipe® manufactured to BS 7838 may be buried directly in screed/concrete, without the need for additional protection. Flow capacities for residential sizes of TracPipe are identical to those for copper (see BS 6891 - Specification for installation of low pressure gas pipework of up to 28 mm (R1) in domestic premises (2nd family gas)).
TracPipe bends by hand, needs very limited joining and dramatically reduces installation time with speed, flexibility and ease of handling and fitting improving productivity and safety. TracPipe is available on long length reels, in seven bore sizes (DN 12,15,22,28,32,40 & 50) and terminates with male BSP fittings, simply and quickly attached, without the need for special tools. There is no need for bends or elbows as TracPipe can be easily bent by hand.
