Two-time award winning project chooses Leaderflush Shapland

Leaderflush Shapland, the UK’s leading doorset manufacturer, has been the number one supplier of performance doorsets to landmark buildings across the UK, including the recent RIBA and Civic Trust award winning New Art Exchange building in Nottingham.

Both the RIBA and Civic Trust awards are given to acknowledge the very best in architecture – recognising buildings that meet today’s high architectural aesthetic and performance standards as well as make a contribution to the local environment we live in.

To achieve this, architect Hawkins/Brown specified 68 performance doors from Leaderflush Shapland’s Designer and Extended Performance ranges. Finished in an array of fantastic colours, Leaderflush Shapland doors were specified not only to meet the necessary performance characteristics of up to 60 minutes fire resistance, 38 RwdB sound reduction and ‘Severe Duty’ mechanical strength, but also to add a colourful touch contributing to the artistic nature of the building.

To meet the requirements of ‘Severe Duty’ mechanical strength, the doors incorporate the cost-effective engineered performance core, EnduraCor, exclusive to Leaderflush Shapland. EnduraCor is one of the most durable core constructions available to the market, meeting and exceeding the DD171 ‘Severe Duty’ mechanical strength rating by up to 1,000 impacts. As such, EnduraCor is the perfect solution for high traffic, public environments providing a durable doorset able to withstand the harsh impact of constant, everyday use.
