Type of works: modernisation of car park access barriers.

Regular breakdowns were causing havoc until Atlas modernised all the car park access barriers on UEL Docklands campus with new electronic controllers.

Atlas upgraded a total of eight barriers, four 'in' and four 'out', to allow entry by card readers and automatic exit by underground loop. Microprocessor controls helped to keep costs down and improve security and reliability while coping with thousands of student movements every day.

In addition, three new rising arm barriers fitted with Atlas electronic controls were supplied and installed at another location on the Docklands site.

Ian Bruce, a University supervisor commented: "We chose Atlas to upgrade our systems after careful checks indicated their equipment had an excellent reliability record and the company provided a high level of service."
