Vapour barriers/breathers

Ubbink specialises in many roofing components, including vapour-control layers.

The Ubbink Multibar 265 is suitable for low slope, insulated, built-up metal sheet roofs, as well as acoustic metal roofs, single-ply membrane roofs and insulated wall cladding. It is suitable as an internal vapour-control layer in ceilings and walls. Multibar 265 is a 0.265mm thick, three-layered membrane. It also incorporates a White high-density reinforcement grid and has a water vapour resistance of 507MNs/g.

The Ubbink Reflect 350 is designed for use in buildings with a high water-vapour content, such as swimming pools, spas, leisure centres and wet processing plants. Multibar Reflect 350 consists of reinforced polyethylene as well as a foil membrane. The Multibar Reflect 350 has a roll size of 2 x 25m, is 0.350mm thick and has a water vapour resistance of 43,000MNs/g.

It is essential that vapour-control layers are continuous throughout the roof and all laps are sealed. This includes abutments, rooflights, penetrations, gutters and ridges. Laps should be sealed with 15mm wide Ubi-Seal double-sided sealant tape.
