Vicaima Oak Doors for Maple Quays

Vicaima Oak Doors for Maple Quays

The redevelopment of Canada Water, the historical quayside area of the Rotherhithe Peninsula, is one of London’s largest and most exciting regeneration schemes. The scheme, developed by Southwark Council, British Land Canada Quays and Barratt Homes, focuses on creating a vibrant canal side community, comprising around 2,700 new homes and an exciting mix of community, retail and leisure facilities.

Maple Quays, the residential component of this massive redevelopment, is being completed by Barratt Homes over several phases. Fairmont House and Vancouver House formed the third phase and delivered 385 new homes providing 113 affordable and 272 private homes. They comprise a series of perimeter blocks ranging in height from five to eight storeys, secure landscaped courtyards, roof terraces and balconies as well as new public open spaces.

Barratt Homes chose Vicaima’s Dekordor Oak together with white grooved doors to complement the contemporary, high spec finish that characterises the entire Maple Quays development. Combining an ideal blend of style, consistency and durability demanded by this scale of development, 3,500 Vicaima Dekordor entrance and internal doors were supplied for Fairmont and Vancouver House, with FD60 and FD30 ratings.

Vicaima’s Dekordor range is an original alternative to moulded skin doors, using a foil finish. In addition to Oak and White, finish effects include Ash, Beech and Walnut, as well as cross-directional Oak. Doors can be supplied flush or with grooved options to create a distinctive appearance. Entrance doors from Vicaima are also available with fire rating, acoustic, access and security specifications.
