Type of works: roof to floor protection and enhancement of the regional new build structure. Works included the waterproofing of a flat roof, the construction of a watertight concrete slab and the provision of safe, attractive and long-lasting floors.

The project involved providing a 7000m² cost competitive, but durable roofing system with a proven track record in fast-track construction. Additionally, the same manufacturer was capable of supplying a concrete admixture system to produce an extremely water-resistant floor slab and a hard-wearing floor finish to not only protect the slab, but to also satisfy health and safety issues.
 
Sika systems, including Sikaplan VG roof membrane, Sika Watertight Concrete incorporating Sika Viscocrete, and Sikafloor 261 universal floor resin, were used as a single-source package of solutions from a large global organisation reputed for the quality of its products, technical excellence and after-sales support. It was considered vital that such a well-respected and wide-ranging manufacturer should be selected to supply materials, as European as well as UK companies were involved in this fast-track project.
