Maxwood provides washrooms for landmark commercial development in London.
Occupying a prime position with stunning views over the Regent’s Canal, 3 Pancras Square is constructed around a single core, with washrooms within the central core of each floor plate.
Maxwood’s team worked closely with developer, Argent LLP and main contractor, BAM Construction South East, to meet the project’s exacting aesthetic and technical demands.
Maxwood’s package for 3 Pancras Square, the latest building in Argent’s King’s Cross masterplan, provides male, female and accessible washrooms over ten floors of contemporary office space, together with changing facilities in the basement.
Maxwood custom-designed and built the washrooms exclusively for the prestigious project.
Styled around Maxwood’s high quality product range, from elegant flush-fronted Maranté toilet cubicles to Xeista Corian vanity units incorporating hand-basins with a luxurious bronze-effect finish and matt black taps.
The full-height doors to the Maranté toilet cubicles are faced with a cream-coloured gloss laminate with black PVD hardware and are fitted with fall-to-close hinges.
The cubicles’ flush surface appearance is achieved with a unique pilaster design running in-line with the doors. Vanity tops for the new washrooms were manufactured from Krion in a neutral shade, creating a dramatic contrast to the gold and black elements.
Maxwood’s Prism Mirror Box units complement the vanity area, and lift off mirror panels enable effortless access to washroom supplies such as paper towels and soap dispensers.
Maxwood’s comprehensive package also included complementary wall panelling with a neat shadow gap trim around the grey gloss panels for washroom lobbies.
In addition to designing washrooms for the new building’s upper storeys, Maxwood provided solutions for male and female changing rooms located in the basement. These include extra tall toilet cubicles, for added privacy, from its water-resistant Marin XT range and Oracle lockers.
Maxwood’s Oracle locker system is ideal for this type of tough environment, providing secure personal storage that is easy to maintain. The facilities are completed with Opex bench seating with solid ash slats and handy pull-out ironing boards.
Pipework and mounting of sanitaryware for all washrooms at 3 Pancras Square was concealed by the use of Maxwood’s Maxwall Duct Panelling system.
Laura Gilbert, Senior Interior Designer of BAM Design commented, “Maxwood’s bespoke production and installation is of the highest quality. The attention to detail, especially around the material transitions, has made our concept a stunning reality!”
Maxwood Design Manager, Jason Owen says: “The architect’s excellent drawings and clear design intents helped us transform an inspirational concept into workable washroom designs that deliver both style and function.”
