Wellbar Central, Newcastle

Type of works: design and manufacture of Maxwood washroom systems, including Maranté cubicles.

Designed to complement a top-end office facility, the washroom at Wellbar Central was designed by the architect for maximum enhancement within allocated budget. Maintaining an efficient simplicity appropriate to the purpose of the building, creative use of premium materials gave the quality feel that was required.

Flush-fronted Maranté cubicles in real-wood veneer are complemented by corresponding panelling behind the wash-hand basins. Based on Maxwood recommendations, the horizontal vanity shelf was changed from wood-veneer material to back-painted glass, to provide better water resistance with no loss of design impact.

Maxwood provided:

  • Flush-fronted, floor-to-ceiling cubicle system
  • Real-wood-veneer to cubicles and duct panelling
  • Bespoke vanity mirrors creating a sense of space
  • Back-painted glass ‘dust-cap’ shelf to vanity
  • Wall-hung basins with bottle-trap wastes
  • Enduring design and materials for long-lasting enhancement
