Type of works: installation of double sliding automatic doors.

Working closely with West Suffolk Hospital NHS Trust, door manufacturer and supplier Kaba Door Systems has recently completed an installation at the main entrance to the hospital. Kaba has installed double sliding automatic doors to the main entrance which provides fast and reliable access.

Following the successful sliding door installation, Kaba has installed its new Air-Gate system to the main entrance automatic doors. Kaba’s revolutionary Air-Gate system uses 80 percent less energy than conventional air-curtain systems. Unlike traditional systems, which permanently blow hot or cold air down into the doorway, the Air-Gate is activated when the door is opened and uses only air at room temperature.

Kaba were asked to fit the Air-Gate as part of the Trust’s initiative to save on energy costs and reduce the hospital’s carbon emissions each year.

Paul Bradley of the Hospitals Facilities Directorate said: “We are delighted with Kaba’s installations. The hospital is an extremely busy environment, with high volumes of traffic which include wheelchair users and it is imperative that we have easy, reliable access.”
