Flowcrete has been involved in the construction of Europe’s biggest ever shopping development, Westfield London, which is set to play its part in a massive £1.6 billion regeneration of the area.

Located in the trendy Shepherd’s Bush district of West London, the new centre, which is expected to rival even Oxford Street, houses an atrium for live events, 4,500 parking spaces, 265 shops, 15 restaurants, a cinema and many other leisure facilities.

Flowcrete’s decorative seamless terrazzo, Mondéco, in a specially formulated blend, was specified for Westfield London’s new opulent salon-style shopping area known as The Village. Prior to the installation of Mondéco, Flowcrete’s semi-dry cementitious floor screed, Isocrete Heavy Duty K-Screed, was applied to provide a level surface for the final floor finish.

The Village, which cost a staggering £25 million, is home to some of the most exclusive brands available on the high street. Flowcrete’s Mondéco was specified not only in all communal concourse areas but also 1m into each retail unit as well, paving the way for shopaholics wondering between top-tier fashion houses such as Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Miu Miu and Armani.

Mondéco is a solvent-free flooring system made from a decorative range of recycled mirror glass, pearl and marble aggregates, which is then diamond ground in situ to reveal an eye-catching floor finish.
