Wila lights up Royal Opera House

The Royal Opera House places an outstanding performance centre at the disposal of London‘s Trendy Covent Garden district. The task of light planning for the Royal Opera House was handled by Ove Arup & Partners. During the redevelopment a special set of problems were encountered due to the height of the rooms combined with limited recess depth in the ceiling.

A further requirement was that the lighting level had to be flexible and adapted to suit the individual users. As Nick Dibben, Senior Electrical Engineer at Ove Arup & Partners, explains, "In addition to the corridors, we primarily ran into a major problems with the artists‘ rehearsal rooms where the ceilings are six metres high. We found a solution by using the compact, high performance products in the WILA E Connect Series."
