Spilka Opus is the topswing hinge introduced in 2004. It is particular developed for aluminum covered windows and other profile-constructions.
Areas of application
Spilka Opus hinges are used in horizontal top hung fully reversible windows.
The most widely used window profile is made of aluminum-timber, but additionally there are timber and profile-constructions.
Useful functions
The window is opened by a handle on the lower part of the casement which operates an espagnolette system, this also allows for secure ventilation.
Spilka Opus hinges incorporate a child safety lock as a standard. This limits the initial opening of the window to a maximum 80 mm and re-engages when the sash reverses 180 degrees to allow the outside pane of the glass to be cleaned.
This is done without intrusion into the room - leaving curtains, blinds and ornaments undisturbed.
Functional benefits
Outward opening windows have a weather performance advantage as the sash is made tighter against the weather gasket in the frame by increased wind pressure.
The hinge is fitted in a `routing` in the side of the frame and this allows a minimal gap between sash and frame.
Handling the window is easy in all positions. The design and construction ensures the sash is perfectly balanced even when the sash is reversed 180 degrees.
The hinge system allows the design of high performance, secure windows with excellent insulation qualities; the hinge rivets are precisely produced with in-built lubrication requiring no maintenance and ensuring a long service life.
Spilka Opus sizes
The hinges are available in 6 sizes (A1-A6)
Lowest window height is 430 mm and highest window height is 1588 mm;
