Window Hinges: Spilka Swing™

Spilka hinges have been the market leaders for reversible windows for many years. The side hung fully reversible 'Swing' hinge for timber windows was introduced in 2005.

Areas of Application
Spilka Swing™ is a stainless steel hinge for side-hung reversible windows, designed to be flexible to suit a wide range of timber window profiles, aluminum-timber and profile constructions.

Useful functions
The window opens by a handle on the side, and it can be closed in a smaller ventilating position by an espagnolette.

Spilka Swing™ has child safety lock as a standard. If the window opens toward this, the opening will be about 80 mm, adapted to demands of child safety.

The window has also a larger ventilating opening.

The window sash can be reversed 180 degrees for cleaning without intruding into the room or disturbing curtains, blinds or ornaments.

The child safety opening restrictor is automatically engaged when the sash is turned 180 degrees for washing.

Functional benefits
Windows who opens outwards, gets tighter by increased wind pressure, because the frame gets pushed towards the gaskets.

Swing hardware features a low friction wheel and rail arrangement making the sash easy to operate and reverse for cleaning and minimising wear and tear.

The stainless steel hinge system allows the design of high performance, secure windows with excellent insulation qualities; the hinge rivets are precisely produced with in-built lubrication requiring no maintenance and ensuring a long service life

Spilka Swing™ sizes
The hinges are available in 5 sizes (M4-M8) allowing window widths from 388 mm to 888 mm.
