The innovative, BBA Approved “i3” system encompasses the concept of sealing out weather whilst sealing in comfort and energy savings. It incorporates a choice of products to effectively seal on three levels: Weather tight (but breathable) externally, air tight internally, with a thermal and acoustic insulation layer between.

Typical example of the i3 system is comprised of:

illbruck Compriband TP600: an impregnated foam tape which forms a breathable external weathertight seal.
illbruck FM230 Window Seal Foam: a PU Expanding Foam which insulates giving the installation improved thermal and acoustic performance
illbruck ME500 Duo Flexible Membranes: intelligent membranes used internally to create an airtight installation.

For multi-storey timber frame construction where differential movement can occur, Tremco illbruck offer an impregnated joint sealing tape specifically designed for extreme movement accommodation:
