Worcester Cathedral

Worcester Cathedral

Client: Worcester Cathedral, Worcestershire
Type of works: installation of an inclined platform to offer access to certain parts of the cathedral.

Access Lift Consultants had the task of producing a lift that offers access to certain areas of the cathedral, whilst ensuring that the fabric of the building was not affected.

An inclined platform lift was decided upon, and the architect chose a specific colour. It was then decided that the steel supports holding the rail in place were not of the correct design, and so working with the manufacturer, specially-designed posts were produced.

The lift was successfully installed and a further lift has since been requested by the cathedral.
