Zehnder wins 2011 CIBSE Building Performance Award

Zehnder, Europe’s leading manufacturer of indoor climate solutions, has won the 2011 CIBSE Building Performance Award for Energy-using Product with its Zehnder Carboline radiant heating and cooling panel.

Assessing product development, product innovation, overall product benefits and green credentials, the CIBSE criteria covered all aspects of design and performance. Setting a new standard in energy efficient temperature control and utilising innovative material technology, the Zehnder Carboline came out on top.

The first radiant panel in the UK to use a compressed natural graphite panel, the Zehnder Carboline combines outstanding performance with superior energy efficiency. With an extremely fast reaction time it responds immediately to changes in room temperature. This translates into lower running costs and, consequently, lower emissions.

Moreover, the excellent thermal conductivity of the graphite means the Zehnder Carboline can achieve 95% heat/cool transfer across the whole of the panel surface ensuring an even distribution of heat.

Finally the Zehnder Carboline has a very low environmental impact. 100% recyclable it is able to operate at low water temperatures, so can be used with renewable energy resources such as solar and ground/air source heat-pumps, and it is manufactured to ISO 14001.

An intelligent and technically advanced product, the Zehnder Carboline is an all round winner, successfully meeting the demands for sustainable, energy efficient and cost-effective heating and cooling solutions.
