THE BUILDING

In the first quarter of 2023, Zurich, a renowned global multi-line insurance provider, opened its new office space in Swindon. The building marks a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to serving a workforce of more than 1,000 employees.

Designed and built with a sustainability-first focus, the building places the well-being of its employees and the local environment at the forefront of its design and construction. For example, the building runs entirely on renewable electricity, exemplifying the company's commitment to reducing its carbon footprint. The facility is also equipped with electric vehicle charging stations, energy- efficient LED lighting, and an enhanced recycling infrastructure, notably, the building even features a rooftop beehive, reflecting the company's commitment to promoting biodiversity and environmental stewardship.

THE GLASS

Aligned with Zurich's dedication to sustainability in construction, the selected option for the building's façade is our SGG STADIP PROTECT COOL-LITE SKN 176. This choice is attributed to its advantageous solar control properties. The STADIP PROTECT COOL-LITE SKN 176
incorporates a laminated outer pane, enhancing not only aesthetic appeal but also contributing to improved acoustic performance and safety credentials.

In this project, we collaborated with Dualseal as the glass processor and APiC as the specialist fabricator.
