Kingspan introduces new soffit insulation solutions
Kingspan Insulation has launched an expanded range of soffit solutions, helping specifiers and installers to meet their thermal and fire performance targets for structural ceilings on any project. The revised range includes the all-new K-Roc Soffit Slab, a mineral fibre insulation with a Euroclass A1 rating, and an update to its popular Kooltherm K110 Soffit Board, which now achieves a Euroclass rating of B-s2,d0 when installed correctly (with foil face on the outside).

Kingspan Kooltherm K110
Kooltherm K110 has a thermal conductivity of just 0.019 W/mK, allowing low U-values to be reached with a thinner insulation depth than worse performing materials. Its improved Euroclass rating of B-s2,d0 on the outer facing means it may be considered for further applications to meet the guidance of the Building Regulations.
The lightweight boards are quick and easy to install, compared to some other commonly used insulants, and are FM Approved to FM 4880 subject to the conditions of approval.

Kingspan K-Roc Soffit Slab
In applications where enhanced fire performance is demanded, K-Roc Soffit Slab can provide a solution. The Euroclass A1 rated mineral fibre slab is available in thicknesses from 100 to 200 mm and has a thermal conductivity of 0.036 W/mK. The product is assessed under Assessment and Verification of Constancy of Performance (AVCP) System 1 for Reaction to Fire.

Kingspan AlphaCore Pad
If the available space for insulation is limited but an enhanced level of fire performance is required, Kingspan AlphaCore Pad could be used.
These panels feature a microporous silica-based insulation core which achieves a Euroclass of A2-s1,d0 and a thermal conductivity of just 0.020 W/mK. This allows them to provide a practical solution to upgrading insulation performance in applications, such as basements or underground car park refurbishments, where existing headroom may already be limited.
