Aero Dual skylight for stunning Victorian home

Aero Dual skylight for stunning Victorian home

Sunsquare were specified to replace a 1970s sliding rooflight with a more thermally efficient and easier to open alternative.

The stunning Victorian home featured a spiral staircase, meaning that a standard access rooflight with a single opening leaf would not offer the width or head clearance required when using the stairs to reach the property’s roof garden.

Sunsquare's Aero Dual skylight presented the ideal solution. Offering two electrically opening leaves hinged on opposite sides of the frame, it only took up fractionally more space than the opening in the roof and granted superior access to the roof space.

Operated by an elegant glass-fronted switch and with a convenient control box that controls the Aero Dual's fully synchronised 24V actuators, the rooflight can open fully for unrestricted access and added ventilation. The opening leaves and base frame feature a double run of EDPM gaskets to ensure air-tightness and thermal efficiency.

The Aero Dual is Kitemarked by the rigorous testing of the British Standards Institution (BSI), benchmarked for its performance against extreme wind loading, weather tightness and air permeability. Maintenance is reduced by tamper-proof hinges with polymer bearings and high-performance actuators. Used in conjunction with Sunsquare’s fully-insulated upstand, the Aero Dual also provides customers with an extensive choice of glass specifications, suitable to exact requirements for a truly bespoke finish.
