Impact Roofing and Building Ltd in partnership with Wates Living Space, carried out refurbishment on four residential blocks in North London.

A high standard of commitment and workmanship was carried out on Bransby, Chadworth, Lynton and Patten House. After an initial inspection, the roof areas were deemed to be in desperate need of attention. Some of the areas contained damaging foliage and others had numerous layers of liquid and rubber from previous repairs.

A number of the roofs also had existing mains water pipes running across their entire areas. Langley had to design an installation that would incorporate these pipes, as they could not be repositioned.

Once the design was confirmed, Impact Roofing and Building Ltd had a challenging obstacle of removing approximately 50 additional tonnes of concrete slabs before the installation could take place. The slabs were used to weigh down the perimeter slabs that covered the existing roof. Safety was of the highest importance, and once complete Impact removed from site 14 x 40 yard skips.

A new tapered system was installed with reduced thickness insulated gutters for the water pipes and integrated access hatches so that the pipes could be accessed when needed.

After the installation was complete, Langley’s 20 year independent insurance backed guarantee was presented to the building owner, for peace of mind that the flat roofs at Amwell Court are protected for years to come.
