SuperFlex® Base and Binder
Award winning SuperFlex asphalt is used as a base or binder course layer and combines the properties of high fatigue resistance with excellent deformation resistance. It is suited for use in a wide variety of applications and particularly where cracking is a problem. SuperFlex has excellent crack resisting properties meaning it is the ideal material when overlaying concrete. It excels in both deformation resistance and fatigue life over conventional mixtures and allows early and temporary trafficking where site restrictions prevent the application of a surface course prior to the removal of traffic management. Superflex is impermeable, keeping out the unwanted action of trapped water and is high fatigue resulting in longevity and therefore reduced costs.
Our bespoke solution for large car parks which has been designed and engineered to provide a tough, hard wearing, low maintenance surface which is perfect for supermarket, retail, transport, office and leisure centre facilities. SuperParking Assured is a system that offers the client with a 10 year performance guarantee. As SuperParking is laid thinner than traditional materials it offers reduced material square meterage costs. The mix design of SuperParking is optimised to resist damaging effects, such as scuffing & indentation, commonly seen at high frequency use car parks. It is aesthetically pleasing with an aggregate grading that provides a smooth, consistent surface finish and it is workable, allowing material to be hand laid where necessary with no deleterious effects.
A Highway Authorities Product Approval Scheme (HAPAS) approved asphalt, thin surface course material available in 6mm and 10mm. Designed to fulfil the requirements and deliver the performance of a modern thin surfacing used in high and low speed heavily trafficked roads. SuperThin offers high levels of rut resistance, offers noise reduction properties, spray reduction and has thin construction to maximise the conservation of natural resources.
A BBA / HAPAS approved thin surfacing asphalt material incorporating polymer modified technology. The product is installed by pavers that incorporate an integral spray bar for applying a polymer modified bond-coat immediately before the asphalt layer. Using SuperSafepave ensures substrate cracks are sealed by effective bond coat application. The speed of application is three times quicker than other thin surfacings and the existing surface can be overlaid ensuring regulation of rutted or deteriorated surfaces. SuperSafepave has excellent friction qualities and offers reduced traffic noise with enhanced spray reduction characteristics.
A high performance 14mm polymer modified asphalt thin surface course designed for high speed, high traffic volume roads. It is a BBA/HAPAS approved product designed to give long term performance in a durable mixture. SuperHitex’s noise reduction, compared to HRA surface course, exceeds 3 dB(A). It has excellent resistance to permanent deformation, offers spray reduction and whole life performance.
A permanent hot mix asphalt surface course mixture that is ideal for use in the reinstatement of flexible footways, footpaths and cycle tracks. SuperTrench is compliant with BS EN13108-1 for asphalt concrete products and meets the requirements of Specification for the Reinstatement of Openings in Highways (SROH). The mix recipes are optimised to produce a binder rich material that aids and improves workability. It is specially designed for hand lay use in trench reinstatements to improve likely attainment of air void compliance with the SROH.
A premium surfacing material designed for demanding high performance motor racing circuits. This product has a long and successful history of use on many race circuits around the country. SuperPrixmat offers high-grip surface with appropriate selection of aggregate for safer high speed racing along with uniform surface texture. It has a jointless mat option when laid in echelon. SuperPrixmat is capable of producing an even, flat track to ensure predictable handling characteristics and has high durability for a longer lasting surface.
SuperSport is a range of asphalt products designed to meet job specific requirements and offer a range of benefits for tennis courts and multi use games areas (MUGAS). SuperSport is free draining allowing for commencement of play shortly after heavy rainfall with our tennis court mix. The ‘Plus’ range offers increased resistance to scuffing and reduces the potential for softening in extreme temperatures. SuperSport is fully compliant with requirements of the Lawn Tennis Association. The finished surface can be coloured and playing areas marked up in a range of colourways. SuperSport binder course is available in various aggregate sizes of 10, 14 and 20mm, enabling the contractor to select the material best suited to their application.
A highly compactable, very strong and durable asphalt, for use in very heavily loaded areas such as city centre road junctions, bus lanes and stations, ports and heavy industrial yards. Supreme has very high rut resistance offering polymer modified binder with high softening point above 75⁰c. It is a dense, impermeable asphalt allowing earlier trafficking.
SuperDrive asphalt has been specifically designed for domestic drives to give an aesthetically pleasing finish whilst being tough enough to cope with the demands of wear and tear from shear forces exerted by the turning wheels of private vehicles.
A range of distinctly coloured asphalts that use a translucent penetration grade, resinous hydrocarbon binder. The special binder is readily pigmented and provides a wide range of asphalt colours. SuperColour Ultra can be mixed in red, green, yellow, blue and white. The intensity of the colour can also be varied by altering the level of pigmentation, harmonising with the surroundings. The range of colours allows clients to enhance safety through colour-coded demarcation areas. It is available using binder technology and is manufactured using plant based renewable ingredients. It is suitable for domestic and commercial schemes.
A high performance 10mm polymer modified asphalt designed and engineered to provide an enhanced surface course for higher stressed areas. SuperCurve can offer excellent SCRIM properties with good low temperature cracking resistance and high elastic recovery. It has good deformation resistance at higher temperatures.
A durable, coloured asphalt, SuperColour Exposed is a product that gains its colour by exposing the natural colour of the coursing aggregates used in the mix. The High Velocity Impact Method (HVIM) shot-blasting process we use allows us to remove the surface bitumen left 4-6 weeks after application, in order to sufficiently expose the colour of the aggregates. SuperColour Exposed is aesthetically pleasing and the surface can be refreshed to rejuvenate the natural colour. Various bitumen grades can be used to satisfy a range of traffic scenarios whilst it is laid using the same method as regular asphalts SuperColour Exposed does not require the expensive cleaning process needed for other conventional, pigmented materials and is available in gold, red, green and gravel colours.
A range of coloured asphalt products based around BS/EN close, dense and medium graded standard mixtures. The product can be used in any application particularly where colour differentiation is deemed an important aspect such as private drives, cycleways and pedestrian areas. SuperColour Exposed is available in a range of colour saturation grades - 'Advanced' grades contain higher concentrations of pigment for stronger colour saturation; 'Extra' grades use a complementary coloured aggregate in the mixture for longer lasting colour effect. It is a cost effective, colour demarcation asphalt.
SuperBase is a specifically engineered asphaltic concrete 14mm dense binder course mixture, which has been designed to fill the gap within the range of binder course materials, described in UK asphalt standards. SuperBase is suitable for use in either low or high density traffic situations and is equivalent in stiffness modulus to a conventional HDM 50 or HMB 35 for Superbase grades 50 or 35 respectively. It has been developed to provide the function of a durable and impermeable supporting layer below modern thin surfacings. It has rich binder contents and low insitu void contents; designed to be 6% or less rendering them impermeable. SuperBase is uniform mat with low risk of segregation and can be laid at 40mm thick.
S.M.A.Tex is a Highway Authorities Product Approval Scheme (HAPAS) approved thin surface course material available in 14mm and 10mm nominal size, designed for use in heavily trafficked, high speed urban highways. Provided as a surface course system and installed only by our contracting business to ensure compliance with Specification for Highway Works Clause 942. S.M.A. Tex 942 has guaranteed end performance requirements for a period of two years. It has long term durability and is rut resistant and is an economic alternative to traditional materials. It offers improved resistance to scuffing with noise and spray reduction.
S.M.A.Pave is a Highway Authorities Product Approval Scheme (HAPAS) approved thin surface course material available in 14mm and 10mm nominal size aggregates. It has been specifically designed for use in heavily trafficked, high speed highways. S.M.A. Pave is SHW clause 942 approved with guaranteed end performance requirements for a period of five years. It offers noise and spray reduction with improved resistance to scuffing. It is an economic alternative to HRA with long term durability and rut resistance that isn’t tough on tyres.
Drainasphalt is a permeable asphalt which allows water to pass freely through to the underlying structure. It has been developed for use as an asphalt porous surface and binder course component in a SuDS pavement. SuperDrainasphalt will reduce surface water spray and headlight glare in wet weather and the inverted texture allows for high capacity acoustic absorption.
A range of airfield asphalt concrete mixtures appropriate for use in runways and taxiways. Alternative to traditionally grooved Marshall Asphalt. SuperAirflex is widely available and offers a high level of rut and scuffing resistance. The mixture has been independently assessed to show that it can receive grooving to provide an economical alternative to traditional grooved Marshall Asphalt. It is available as a standard penetration grade binder or polymer modified for more heavy duty use.
A stone mastic asphalt (SMA) derivative designed to meet both the Defence Estates and BAA specifications for SMA. Its tough and durable properties provide an economic alternative to traditionally specified Marshall Asphalt. The good texture of SuperAirmat does not require grooving making it appropriate for light runway use. Airmat has been used successfully for many regional, and major airports.
S.M.A.Tex asphalt surface course is based on the application and experience of European based stone mastic asphalt technology, paying particular attention to areas where high levels of retained textures is not considered important. S.M.A.Tex Industrial is designed to provide a most durable asphalt surfacing for industrial type applications. This product has a lower texture depth than other highway products to specifically improve resistance to scuffing from items such as stacking cradles and container forklifts.
SuperFlex® surface course
This is a winning range of polymer modified surface course materials for urban and rural areas that combines the properties of high fatigue resistance with excellent deformation resistance. It is suited for use in a wide variety of applications but particularly where there is a potential for cracking.
This product is intentionally designed outside of the regime of HAPAS to allow a wider range of application and performance enhancement. In particular, where durability is placed as higher importance to high textures. SuperFlex®72 is developed to offer a friction level equivalent to that specified for high friction surfaces in highways use. The product achieves this through the use of a specially selected skid resistant aggregate source throughout the mixture. Available in 6mm, 10mm and 14mm aggregate sizes and capable of covering a thickness of between 15mm-80mm SuperFlex has excellent crack resisting properties that means it is the ideal material when overlaying concrete.
