Automated material flow system for warehouse

Automated material flow system for warehouse

Gebhardt European Conveyor Systems has provided a material flow and picking system for the new central warehouse of electrical wholesaler FEGA. The modular system design permitted easy customisation to suit FEGA‘s needs.

Totes sized 600x400x300 mm and cartons are taken from the 9,000 sqm storage hall up to the picking zones and then on to shipping, to be able to house all operations within one facility three levels were used, these levels were serviced by inclined belt conveyor.

The new container conveyor performs internal material flow between inbound goods, picking areas, packing places and shipping. Containers in formats 600x400x300 mm and cardboard boxes are transported. The conveyor and picking system was built with GEBHARDT conveyor technology System 300, with roller conveyors, accumulator conveyors, belt conveyors, curves, turntables, lift-up gates and push-off stations as well as packing tables being used. The control and MFC (Material Flow Controller) were also set up by GEBHARDT Systems.
