Basement bike storage for The Guardian

Basement bike storage for The Guardian

The architects of The Guardian’s new building approached Cyclepods to help plan and design the basement level for bike storage.

They had designed a layout using standard bike stands and could only fit in enough racks to secure 118 bikes. Cyclepods requested the plans and instead designed a layout using their Spacepods. After a few revisions they finally settled on a design that provided 189 secure bike parking spaces, nearly 60% more than originally planned.

There is also space left for a further 20 Spacepod’s, if their bike user numbers grow. Which is just as well as The Guardian have noticed an increase in cyclists since the pods were installed.
