Lakeside Village is an outlet shopping centre, located in the heart of Doncaster in Yorkshire. There are over 45 brand-name stores and a selection of restaurants and various food and drink eateries.

In 2019, the Council planned a refurbishment project to modernise the store fronts and to make the external space more friendly for visitors.

The first phase of the plan included the installation of 116no GRP (glass-reinforced plastic) cube shaped planters, with a contemporary black sparkle effect. Glass-Reinforced Plastic or fibreglass is a strong, extremely light-weight and highly versatile material that is excellent for highstreet planters.

The second phase of the project included an additional collection of GRP planters, this time in different designs, such as cylinders and conical shapes. The planters containing trees and other fauna were placed strategically outside each store.

The Council also selected the Box Wood Litter Bin to assist with waste management and the Big Harris Bench to create comfortable seating areas for shoppers to sit and rest.

The third phase included a final package of the GRP planters. The entire landscaping project came to £137k. The completed outdoor space has a refreshed feel with the addition of greenery in locations around the site and conveniently placed benches and litter bins.
