BurgessCEP wall panel solutions at college refurb

BurgessCEP designed the ceiling and wall panel solution for Blackpool & Fylde College which would meet the visual, acoustic and budget requirements of the £50 million improvement project.

The key requirement was to create spaces which would promote a safe, effective and relaxed learning environment. To achieve this, visual appearance, noise reduction, external light and security needed to be taken on into account to ensure the building achieves an ‘excellent’ BREEAM energy rating, meets and exceeds current building regulations and helps reduce carbon footprint.

In the atrium BurgessCEP used the Curvatura 3D metal ceiling system due to its extremely flexible design capabilities. The impactful 3D panelled curves were manufactured in striking reds, blacks and whites which delivered beautiful aesthetics, excellent light reflectance and great acoustics. To further support acoustic absorption BurgessCEP applied the Class A sound absorbing Sequence soft fibre wall panels to the walls of the Atrium.

For the creative engineering workshop BurgessCEP’s Class A sound absorbing Sequence Baffles in fresh, bright white were installed and suspended vertically. The vertical hanging helps to limit noise reverberation whilst still enabling air to circulate around them.

A simple, fresh and stylish design approach was then applied to the classrooms and remaining building. Keeping in mind the need to manage acoustics and create a great learning environment, BurgessCEP implemented Class A sound absorbing Sequence wall panels.
