Canopies UK extend space at Alec's Restaurant

Canopies UK provided a Cantabria canopy system to extend the dining space at Alec’s Restaurant in Brentwood, Essex.

The venue is always full to capacity with advanced bookings a must, as such they contacted Canopies UK to extend their dining space and seat more guests.

The restaurant had an existing outdoor terrace balcony that owner Alec wanted to better utilise whilst making a bold statement.

The terrace area had to accommodate disabled access to the restaurant through existing patio doors. The canopy being installed would have to take this into consideration and an access point would need to be specified at the canopy design stage.

The restaurant opted for the Cantabria canopy system, which really lends itself to the hospitality market, its main selling point is that it allows you to entertain guests in an outside environment 365 days a year.

At the touch of a button you can close and open the roof and the sides – all independently with the total canopy closing in under 60 seconds.

With accessories ranging from heating to interior lighting and the option of having windows and doors the Cantabria was built specific to the customer’s requirements.

Canopies UK were also able to build a disabled access door at the side of the canopy as part of the integral structure.

Since the installation they customer has now had glass screens fitted which allows even more natural light through and make the area feel warm and inviting.
