Type of works: supply and installation of Polyflor 2000 PUR and Polyflor Standard XL heavy-duty sheet vinyl floorcoverings.

Around 500m² of Polyflor 2000 PUR and Polyflor Standard XL heavy duty sheet vinyl floorcoverings have been installed at the new Centre for Sight eye care centre in East Grinstead, West Sussex.

Fitted throughout clinical areas in the new centre by Image Contract Flooring of Hailsham, both homogeneous floorcoverings combine attractive finishes and colourways with hard wearing performance, ideal for heavy traffic areas.

Suitable for hospitals, schools, offices, shops and stores, Polyflor 2000 PUR offers a range of 20 multi-tone shades, each featuring two base shades and two highlight tones, while Polyflor Standard XL offers 12 top-selling shades.

Polyflor 2000 PUR features a high quality polyurethane reinforcement which, combined with a superior closed surface finish, can cut maintenance costs by up to 48% by facilitating a low cost, polish-free maintenance regime for the lifetime of the floorcovering.

Polyflor Standard XL and Polyflor 2000 PUR both achieve a BRE Global environmental A+ rating over a 60-year service life, Certificate No: ENP336, for healthcare installations. Floor finishes with low environmental impact can contribute to a healthy BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) score.

Both floorcoverings meet the performance requirements of EN 649 and, fully tested to fire safety standard EN 13501-1, is certified as Class Bfl-S1, achieving the criteria EN ISO 9239-1 ≥8kw/m² and the mandatory requirement of EN ISO 11925-2 pass.

Both products have been independently tested and results demonstrate that they inhibit the growth of MRSA on the flooring. An effective cleaning regime is, however, the most important defence against infection.
